What the Pink Line is and where it runs

The MRT Pink Line (Wiwat Nakhon Line) is a fully elevated straddle monorail between Khae Rai and Min Buri. It runs 34.5 kilometres with 30 stations and has been open since 31 December 2023.

It starts at Nonthaburi Civic Center on Rattanathibet Road, follows Tiwanon Road to the Pak Kret junction, then turns onto Chaeng Watthana Road past the Government Complex and the Muang Thong Thani entrance, passes under the Don Mueang Tollway and the Democracy Monument circle in Bang Khen, and finally tracks Ram Inthra Road all the way to Min Buri, where the depot and a park-and-ride building for about 3,000 cars sit next to the terminus.

Trains run 06.00–24.00 every day according to MRTA. A 3 kilometre extension with 2 stations branches from Muang Thong Thani (PK10) to the Muang Thong Thani roundabout (MT-01) and the lake (MT-02); it opened on 17 June 2025.

The 4 interchange stations and how far you walk

The Pink Line works as a feeder that brings people from Nonthaburi and northern Bangkok into the main lines. There are 4 interchanges.

  • Nonthaburi Civic Center (PK01) to the Purple Line (PP11): an unpaid-to-unpaid walk of about 346 metres with a skywalk and moving walkways.
  • Lak Si (PK14) to the SRT Red Line (RN06): about 180 metres across a footbridge. See what is around it on the MRT Lak Si area page.
  • Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (PK16) to the Green Line (N17): a paid-to-paid link, so you stay inside the system.
  • Min Buri (PK30) is built to meet the Orange Line (OR28); the Thailand Cultural Centre–Min Buri section is still a project under way at MRTA.

Watcharaphon station is also planned as the future interchange with the Grey Line.

Fares today and the 17–45 baht cap coming in 2027

The full Pink Line tariff announced for normal service is 15–45 baht by distance. When commercial service started on 7 January 2024 a promotional 13–38 baht scale applied, with free travel over the first few stations, so check the current price at the station or on the MRTA website before you travel.

The bigger change is the common-fare measure: a maximum first-entry charge of 17 baht and a maximum 45 baht per trip across every line in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, targeted to start on 1 January 2027, with Thai nationals registering through the Paotang app from December 2026. Details are in our 17–45 baht fare article.

If you drive, the Min Buri park-and-ride is open 05.00–02.00 and costs 5 baht an hour when you take the train (20 baht an hour if you do not), and changing systems at Nonthaburi Civic Center with the same EMV card within 30 minutes earns a 13–14 baht discount.

What renting along the Pink Line costs on DooAsset

The appeal of the corridor is price. Across Bangkok the median condo asking rent on DooAsset is 29,000 baht a month (from 688 open listings), while the Pink Line districts sit far below that.

Each district has only a handful of open listings, so read these as a rough level rather than a fixed price, and compare them with all condos for rent in Bangkok.

A checklist before you choose a unit on the line

  1. Measure the real walking distance to the station entrance, not the straight line on a map: the monorail runs above wide roads and some blocks need a footbridge.
  2. Count your transfers. For an office in the centre you will usually change at least once, at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat or Nonthaburi Civic Center.
  3. Add a month of fares to the rent before deciding that a cheaper, further unit wins. Our guide on how much more a unit beside a station costs shows the method.
  4. If you own a car, check parking in the building and how far you are from the Min Buri park-and-ride.
  5. If you are weighing renting against buying, compare the real numbers in rent or buy a condo in Bangkok.
